Margin, orientation, Header and Footer, Change Case, Drop Cap, Page Border and Column in MS Word.

    

                                                                  

Tools of MS Word-


MS Word is an application software developed by Microsoft to process textual matters. MS Word is a word processor application. It is an application of MS Office Package. 

It has many useful tools to make our work easier.


Margins- Page Margin is the blank space around the edge of the page. To set the margin click on-

    Page Layout Tab---> Page Setup Group----> Margins.


Orientation- Orientation means direction. There are two types of page orientations available in MS Word.

  • Portrait(Vertical)
  • Landscape(Horizontal)

    Page Layout Tab---> Page Setup Group----> Orientation


Header & Footer- Header & Footer display the common information on each page of a document. Header is displayed at the top of every page. Footer is displayed at the bottom of every page.

    Insert Tab----> Header and Footer


Change Case- You can change the capitalization of words, sentences or paragraphs.

    Home Tab---> Font Group-----> Change Case.

    Following options are available in Change case button.

  • Sentence case
  • lowercase
  • UPPERCASE
  • Capitilize Each Word
  • tOGGLE cASE


Drop Cap- creates a large capital letter at the beginning of a paragraph.

    Insert Tab----> Text Group----> Drop Cap


Page Border- You can apply borders around the paragraphs, entire document.

    Home Tab---> Paragraph Group---> Borders


Columns- This feature is helpful for newsletters and newspapers. This feature breaks the document into many columns. You can use this tool either before or after typing your document.

   Page Layout Tab--->Page Setup--->Columns
